I went back a year ago on CougarCorner and read what we were all saying about last years game. Very similar to what people are saying this year.

Maybe it's because it is based on what I see on the field, not some blue-goggled optimism. Strange, I know...

I have to admit that was funny.



Northern Cougar step away from the ledge. turnovers could always make this game go blow out either way but if you look at each team it should be a close game with edge going to byu.

2011 was a funny season. BYU had just beaten Texas behind starters Riley Nelson and Michael Alisa to improve to 2-0, Utah had just lost their starting QB after losing to USC out-of-conference, and the Cougars were looking forward to revenge after a 54-10 embarrassment in Provo in 2010...

Really? You predicted that we'd end the season ranked last year? You predicted we'd beat Ole' Miss? You predicted we'd beat Oklahoma? You predicted our bowl victories? Man, that is weird, I don't remember anything like that coming from you.

I brought up one game, because I find the similarities very similar when I comes to what people were saying last year. I was right about that one game. Many were talking about all the reasons we would win, and I said last year that our offense scared me because we had performed so poorly. I have the same concerns this year, though our offense definitely has looked better than last year. But against what level of competition? WSU is potentially terrible, they almost last at home to Eastern Washington and Weber is an FCS team that we struggled to score against until the end of the 1st quarter. These are things that concern me.



I read what many were saying last year, and I am hearing the same things. I just found it interesting that it is so similar to this year.



A simple comment gets you up in arms. Wow.

Who gives a rats @$$ what fans say about any game ever. It has exactly zero bearing on the outcome of the game. I can say that BYU will win this year 70-0, and that won;t make it happen. Or I can say Utah will win 17-16, and it still won't make it happen.



The fun of it for fans is simply the fact we get to discuss it. Being right or wrong does not matter.



By the way, I think the U is reeling a bit right now and in a transitional phase. IWhit made some cheap coaching decisions (hiring BJ and Shah), and now the issues are with their personnel groups. That inexperiecne could hurt them.



All I want to say to every U fan I talk to is stop moaning. If WHite is out, Rowe is out and Wynn is out, you guys get to fall back on that awesome PAC depth this year based on your awesome recruiting, so no problems, right?



BYU wins this one. BEcause this year, the total sum will be greater than the individual parts.

Nah, it's your constant negativity and eyore-ism that gets to me, not just a single comment. We have a fantastic team that has done great things for the last decade, and all you can do is be a downer. I didn't really look up anything you've written, I just know that you're such a sad sack that you wouldn't predict wins in any game vs a decent BCS opponent and wouldn't predict that we'd be ranked if there was any possibility that we wouldn't be. There is a group of negative Nellies on here, of which you seem to be the worst, and it bothers me, I'll freely admit that. I came here to get excited for rivalry week and instead all I get is "We'll find a way to blow it," "We said the same thing last year and look what happened," "thanks for noticing me..." You can say what you want about being a "realist" or whatever, but you predicting a loss in a game we haven't even played is no more "real" or valid than those predicting a win. I see very few, if any, posters who are predicting a blow-out win or anything of the sort (blue-goggled, if you will), but for some reason you feel the need to combat ANY optimism on this board, and it gets old.

Byu wins this one, especially if white 4 doesn't play. This is one of the best defense have ever had at byu, and i am loving it!

I had no idea that I got to you this badly. My kids and wife don't pay as much attention to me as you do.



I'm extremely negative towards BYU when it comes to the Utah game. After 15 years of pain, that tends to happen.



I'm sorry I upset your delicate sensibilities. If all you want is for someone to blow sunshine up your skirt, you probably shouldn't read what I write. Seems easy to me. I honestly couldn't care less, but I find your indignation entertaining.

A "Gray's Sports Almanac" from 1955 isn't very helpful. I'd take the 2015 version though.
