I dream it every year. Hoping my dreams come true this year.

Sure - since you recognized it is just a dream - not a probability - not an entitlement - not likely - but a very slight possibility - but that is what dreams are made for.

We have pretty good odds of winning any particular game on our schedule. Most games our odds are above 50%. For a couple of games our odds are nearly 100%.



But we have 6 or 7 games where we are in that 40-60% range that means they could go either way.



So our odds are pretty good, by the 40% definition in any given game. The odds of stringing together 12 regular season wins when 6 or 7 games could go either way, are actually SLIM at best. And if that miracle happens, then we get a crack at Alabama, LSU, a big 12 Power, USC, Oregon, Va Tech or whomever sorts out on top of the Big East.



Dream on - but it is a pipe dream right now.

This! They haven't even done anything yet. For me, the dream is there every year, but that is the only level at which I am dreaming it so far this year.

My feelings exactly. I always dream about it, but I also have a grip on reality. Past experience keeps me from getting too excited.



If we beat Utah and Boise St., I'll start getting excited, but even then still have ND, GT and Oregon St. (who just beat Wisconsin).



Like others have said, it's our defense that gives me any hope at all that it's possible.

Honestly, I'm pretty confident about this season. We have a few games that will be tough, but I think that our hardest game will be Notre Dame, and I think that we could win that game. I fully believe that 11-1 won't be too difficult this year, and 12-0 seems fairly possible.

We do have a better defense. Not sure yet, but probably not as good of an offense, solid special teams, a lot of experienced players, a few less experienced coaches. Net all of that out - and we would have a better chance at a schedule comparable in strength and location to that year.



That is the issue. We do not. This is a tougher average schedule. I am not saying we are necessarily playing any one team that is tougher than any one team that year.



I am saying we have more games that could go either way and more road exposure. The odds catch up with you.
