Who Is The Best QB in Utah -Poll?

Now that we have seen several in action, this may be a good time to re-ask this question. This is not a question about potential or futures. Bthis is a question about here and now.



Which QB would be best if he had to run the full package and lead their team. The question isca little unfair because U has a greatcRab and the others do not. But U has a mediocre OL as doescY and Y has better receivers. I am horrible with names and lazy - so I will just label a couple of the candidates. These are in random sequence and Ivthink their is not a clearly distanced winner.

That is my ranking. Potential - I would guess Hill, U Freshman in that order.

The intangibles that Riley brings to the field have shown a bigger change in our team from last year than any of the other QB's in the state have had on their teams.

I think that Hays is underrated as a "game manager" QB, and I think Chuckie Keaton is a good QB who is currently overrated.



I think much of Keaton's reputation is based upon his start last year against Auburn, and his start this season. Keaton really tapered off last year. When Keaton went out with an injury last year and Adam Kennedy went in, USU got significantly better. Keaton finished the year with a 137 PER, Kennedy with a 169.



I am very impressed with Chuckie Keaton and I suspect that, should he make reasonable progression and avoid injury, he will be a superb QB. But he wasn't last year, and I'm not going to say he's turned the corner on the basis of one very good game.

Thought Mars might want to rethink whether this was a poll loaded up to make U look good and everyone but BYU look good and BYU look bad. The highest I rated any U QB was 5th. I did not bother to rank Wynn because I knew he was done. But I will do that now by repeating comments from the thread about Wynn. Wynn can be rattled easily - even before the injury. Hays > Wynn Friday and Wynn is now done.



Really - this poll was a reaction to the poll someone created asking how bad Riley would have to play before coaches pulled him.

Again, we will find out this week at Utah and in a few weeks vs USU.



I like Riley. He has converted me mostly. But I think it will end up being Hill who brings an "extra something" who like Riley, brought something that the previous guy couldn't or didn't have. I have to confess a fear I have and that is that Riley goes out with an injury during the Utah game. I hope it doesn't happen, but the clock is ticking and he will give HIS ALL to win this game.
