HAWKWING: Use of Term "Red Zone" when referring to BYU

Hawkwing, in the BYU/Weber game thread, a person who will not be named (byucougar1), use the term "red zone" when BYU was within the Weber's 20 yard line. Even though this unnamed person (byucougar1) publicly confessed using these horrible, unholy, and abhorrent words, I was greatly grieved by this foul language. He should have said "Blue Zone," but he didn't.



I will not say more about this uncalled for action or extremely vulgar carelessness of caring for the souls of others. I leave judgement to you o great Hawkwing



I was so overcome with emotion, I tore my cloak in half, sat on the ground, and flung dust in the air. Well, here in Florida, it wasn't really dust, it was sand, but that's beside the point. Hawkwing, it cut me, it cut me deep.



Again, I will speak no more of this atrocity and villianousness. I seek not to be boorish and waste your valuable and most precious time Hawkwing, blessed be your mother who bore one so great.



How can we, as true vessels, allow this to happen and be too forgiving? Can we allow mercy rob justice? Can we just simply turn a blind eye to such nefarious comportment or behavior?



I repeat, I will speak no more of this brutishness and wantoness.

Is it the Blue Zone when we are defending it and when we are attacking it? Is it the Blue Zone only at home when the lines on the field clearly are blue - or even on the road if the lines are red or white or other.



And is it the White Zone if the game is a white-out or if BYU is dressed in all-whites.

Or more technically and correctly speaking, when our O is inside the 20, as in today, shouldn't it have been called the "purple zone" since it belongs to the defense and we are trying to take it??

Cougarbib, I forgive you your lack of age and insight into such matters of import. Listen to my words and learn young grasshopper. You misspoke when you said "is it the Blue Zone when we are defending it and when we are attacking it?" We do not defend it nor do we attack it.



It is an inanimate object, simple lines upon grass, a two dimensional plane upon a three dimensional sphere. We become aggressive when we are within the boundaries of that plane. This plane only exists when we possess the ball.



When the other team, a pox of incurable vileness be upon them, has the ball, this plane does not remain in perceptibility. We must attack the other team at all time, but we do not attack the Blue Zone. If we attack it, the Blue Zone, it will rise up and crush us.



I hope this has brought further enlightenment and knowledge into your life.

Apologize for letting my former football days get in the way of saying blue zone (within opponents 20) and red zone (within opponents 10) to describe our efficiency. Would using the term "blue scoring zone" be acceptable next time?

If you rent your cloak, I believe it renders any ruling made by you during said session null and void. At least according to Talmage.
