Boy he sure did!!!! When he could have just safely run for the first down, he made the freshman mistake of throwing it instead-- what a chicken; and being his first collegiate pass, on the full run no less, with a defender in full pursuit to boot, he took forever, like 1.015 of a second, to decide and then throw a pass that was high by 8.25 inches above the numbers--looked practically like a high schooler; And then to top it off, he really looked like a freshman when he lept in the air to give an elated chest bump to Riley Nelson.... Oh wait, The Senior! :roll:

Oh and the run!! Did you see him cower like a little girl? Freshman, sheesh.

Apparently Hype Week is over in Cougarbib-land.

The defense that was going to slow BYU down so much last week is now a 'bad' defense and we're in trouble when we play a real one.

That was an awesome play no matter who executed it. Since it was a freshman in his first game on his first play, his first throw, it was amazing. It makes it harder to stop him next time they put him in the game because no one knows what he will do. I have to hand it to Doman to design a play and have confidence in the freshman to make the right play since the play was a designed QB option with a reciever in a route. If the reciever had been covered, Taysom was one step away from the 1st down and we bring Riley back in to continue the drive. The fact that he kept his eyes up and made the TD play says a lot about Taysom himself.

This is a perfect way to get him real game experience. Not mop up duty. 4th and 1. I hope to continue to see them develop him and bring him along. He will have plenty of opportunities to prove and improve.

And yet so many fans are whining about the poor choices made by the QB with the 5th rating. Note how many of the top QBs have USU ties or are from teams in the west.



We showed pretty well other than our running game being a bit disappointing.



Yes we will face better defenses - but this was not exactly Idaho or Idaho State.
