If you could choose only one...

Would you prefer BYU had the #1 Offense or #1 Defense in the country?



20-30 years ago, I would have said offense. Today I say defense. Shutting teams out or completely down is more exciting to me than scoring 50 or 60. Still, last year's offense was so frustrating during the first 4 games. But imagine if we held great offenses to less than 13 and everyone else to merely a blip.

How about both? That is what some fans expect.

Defense wins championships. I'd #1 defense.

That's what has always been said and I would go with it.

On a side note, for years, BYU was obviously known for it's offense; while it's defense was it's weakness. And now it's the exact opposite. Is it too much to ask to have both sides of the ball clicking at the same time?

Defense. A great defense can make a mediocre offense look good. A great offense just makes a mediocre defense tired.

Defense. A good defense helps a mediocre offense much more than a good offense helps a mediocre defense.

Defense for sure.

Remember, Trent Dilfer is a Super Bowl winning QB because of a great defense.
