Video: Bronco gets heckled by blue-hair at Big Blue Bash

I got this video of Bronco Mendenhall at the Big Blue Bash. A few minutes in, some blue hair heckles him. Bronco handles it pretty well.

The heckler sounded like he was about 104 years old. He doesn't like night games because his bed time is probably 6 PM.

The blue-hair did sound old, but he still came out and we need to applaud him for that. Elder Bednar wants the players to be unique and peculiar, I think we the fans are already there. Some of the weirdness is okay and distinct, but some is unusual, but just the same, it is support. Bronco almost convinced me to go get season tickets...almost. At this point two season tickets on KSL are going for $1,050 to $1,350. Considerable more than what I paid last year. I guess I'll sit this one out.

Living in Florida means I can only buy season tickets if I don't mind paying even bigger bucks for the airplane tickets for every home game or if I don't mind giving them away to some poor deserving couple (and that rules out everybody on this board :whistle: ), but I love the fact that a bunch of the games are on for free after I pay my cable and that's worth it.



I am pumped for this season. In fact, while out in Utah this summer, I went to BYU and bought a BYU cheerleader outfit, ran me over $30, for my three month old granddaughter. I never buy such expensive clothes for kids, especially when they will grow out of it soon, but I bought it a little big and seeing my gd in it is soooooo worth it.

No one should ever be applauded for being rude, and I'm sure public rudeness is not what Elder Bednar intends when he says be peculiar. If you want to complain about late start times, I'm okay with that. Call the athletic department, go see Tom Holmoe, make your voice heard - in the appropriate setting. Not heckling a public speaker.

Funny thing is, Bronco does not like night games either. This guy needs to chillax.

Exactly. It's not Bronco's fault. But Bronco sees the huge upside to our partnership with ESPN. And if that involves later or unusual games times, so be it.



The old crotchety dude should write Tom Holmoe a letter. Not interrupt Bronco's speech.

On a side note, I was at the CC luncheon last season when Bronco got asked the questions that led to his infamous "Pharisees" comment. And yes, it was an old blue-hair lady then and 1 older gentleman as well.



Some of the older fans might need to be retired from commenting, and driving, apparently.



BUt old people today. What can you do? They just don't get it like us hip younger folks.

I loved how he handled it. A gradient better maybe a few steps better than the "educated" comment. Almost strategic. Laser-like. Few words. Effective.

So I just turned 60, when do I get my blue-hair! ;) Cougar blue preferably!!! :love:
