Just saw on the ESPN ticker that ND has lost their starting cornerback for the sason to injury. I never wish ill will on any amatuer athlete, but I always appreciate circumstances that tilt favor towards my Cougs.

I for one am not too pleased with this announcement. Consider that we want the NC. The stronger the opponent, the better we look when we beat them and even later. Now I don't know that we are going to the NC consideration. But, I think and hope we are good enough to get there. So having a weakened ND only hurts our chances, not helps.



Of course if we really aren't that good, it does make us 'look' better by the record if we beat them.

Last time we went to ND and played, they maed our corners looks silly.



Perhaps it is time we returned the favor.....

I still have nightmares of Jeff Smardzsia (Sp?) literally just carrying our backs down the field.

It was one of the most pathetic sights in BYU football history. Never had we looked like such a small program on such a large, national stage, than vs ND.

Don't forget that while our receivers look like giants vs Idaho and the like, they only match up evenly to only slightly better vs bigger schools. So take their loss as our gain and forget the notion that a win over ND is diminished by the loss of one player. The argument itself, on it's face-- ND loses a CB and BYU goes on to win the NC --is a bit Un-sage.

So then we should hope they keep all of their players and then all get injured just before we play them?
