Depending on if and when he goes on his mission -
If he goes on his mission now - then why bother to transfer to Clemson if he would want to come back - but rules may allow him to change his mind without sitting out a year
If he burns a year sitting out - then goes, not sure of the rule these days, but maybe he can come back having never played at Clemson - and not have to sit a 2nd year.
If he burns a year sitting out and then plays his soph year at Clemson before going - would he really be willing to sit his junior year out to play 1 year at BYU as a senior?
In other words, he is most likely gone for good.
