Hoffman/Sampson suspension "indefinite"

Bronco says he will review tonight, could be lifted, could be on going.

This is really unfortunate. Puts them behind and is bad for the team chemistry and focus. Dorks.

It doesn't really matter what they did. They are unable to practice with the team, which has the potential to be a detriment to the team and Hoffman's and Sampson's preparation. I don't know whether that makes them "dorks"...but it is disappointing.



However, if they are only out until Tuesday or Wednesday, I don't think it will be that big of a deal. They are pretty certain to start and have significant playing time. The team hasn't even put on pads yet, so missing a few days of fall camp won't be a significant factor in the big scheme.

Sorry man, no Monson-ing intended. It just made me sick when I heard Bronco said their suspension is indefinite. Yes, there is the caveat that he will review their progress tonight, but it doesn't sound like all that sure of a thing that they are coming back. And I'm worried!

No worries, just put me in the concerned camp and I was afraid the thread would validate the concerns. Hopefully Bronco is just trying to treat them a lesson before they really mess up.



I love BYU for being more than a football team but itdoes cause some extra heartache

I cheer for BYU Football, and I do not tie my religion and faith to BYU sports. As such, I hate all the higher purpose talk. God cares zero for sports outcomes. I get all the missionary stuiff, but honestly, BYU Football was not created for missionary work, nor is it dependent on BYU Football to succeed.



Basically, I am a fan that just wants to win game. Pretty simple.

Though most team rule infractions are unfortunate, I suspect when the connection to OC is revealed, if it ever is, there may be more of an "understanding" about why and how easy it would be to have made the mistake they did.

I don't think I've ever seen something written so closely by another person and portraying the way I feel on a certain issue. Way to go lawboy, we seem to be in the same boat on this one!

Very interesting body language when Bronco was asked if he expected this to be a long term problem. He says no, shakes his head up and down, and pulls his lips inward. I don't think this is a small issue in Bronco's mind. I just hope they both make it right and get to practice tomorrow. :skeptic:

Well I was going for more of a I'm glad they enforce their rules and don't sweep everything under the rug (you know, the topic of the thread) but I guess that can be interpreted to mean my testimony is interconnected with the success of BYU football :roll: and that I think Jake Heaps dissapointed 14 million Mormons and didn't fulfill the purpose of his calling to have the gospel spread throughout all nations. Riley sure has a lot of weight on his shoulders now that I think about it. :whistle:

Actually, as a former proud member of the "Honor Code Friendly Facial Hair Club", I can attest that a short mustache is embraced by BYU's honor code...and the testing center.



However, I wouldn't be surprised if Hoffman was caught trying to take a test or enter the Wilk with some 5 o'clock shadow without a Beard Card. If it was a repeat infraction, I could see why Bronco had to get involved.



As for Sampson, sorry dude! I am all about enforcing the dress code if white jeans shorts are involved and you are a man.

Really? I'm glad He told you that. Then again, I am sure He cares for the outcomes of lots of things but chooses not to intercede--you know, respecting mankind's Agency and all unless it interferes with one of His eternal purposes. I'm not sure the outcome of football games upset His eternal purposes. I wouldn't think so, but then again, I don't presume to speak for God on the matter. ;)
