Newcomers That Are Making Noise in Fall Camp

After Day 2, it appears that the following individuals are showing some athletic ability:



1. Taysom Hill (went 2-2 for 23 yards )

2. Jamaal Williams - is showing a great hands in catching passes and caught a pass that may have gone the distance without quick whistles. He showed very good burst on the play and has some explosive speed.

3. Jerremya D. - at OLB is big, fast and packs a punch.

I am a big Jamaal Williams fan so it is good to see he is doing well. Taysom Hill is likely our starter next year so I am glad he is succeeding as well.

Add Dylan Collie to the list. According to Bronco, he doesn't act like a freshman - runs good routes, catches the ball, knows his assignments and is very confident - a typical Collie. They expect him to contribute this year on Special Teams and others.



Alex Kuresa is also playing well and expects to see time in the Wildcat - one of the better athletes on the team - can pass, run, catch, do it all.



Iona Prtichard is also supposed to be the best all purpose RB and will be a key contributor.



Like the talent that is showing up.

His mission president probably told him to get married within a year of getting home and since football is fifth on his list of priorities he's spending too much time with his fat little girlfriends.

I hope we keep hearing great things about Williams. We have been needing a speedster desperately and denied with several who ha not panned out (I.e., Phillips)

Hine and Dupaix both call Williams "explosive and athletic" a larger version version of Ronnie Jenkins. Alisa is also being touted as running as a man possessed. Riley indicates that it will be difficult to keep Foote off the field as he is a real talent. Sounds to me like we have some depth a RB - maybe why Q. Departed - not guaranteed the amount of touches that he wanted.

Finally some Mitch Mathews news! Sounds like he may work himself to being the #2 guy behind Hoffman. Houk is #3 at Apo's position. I like the future potential of both of these guys, along with Smith.

Nice article on Houk on TBS and the conditioning program. Gave some details on what the program is accomplishing. Indy is working.

Mitch Matthews is an intriguing WR. He is now listed at 6-6, grew one inch during his mission. He is fluid, runs goods routes and catches the ball well. He will be a difficult match-up for the end zone tosses over smaller DBs. Houk has been working on his speed and footwork. He may end up at TE similar to Richard Wilson.

Jamaal Williams is the future of the BYU running game. He is gonna be awesome, especially when paired with guys like Hill and Collie.

While Williams and Collie seem to be most likely to see the field this year given their performance up to this point, David Foote appears likely to be getting reps because of his work ethic and can do attitude. He was recently awarded a schollie (most likely Q's). He will comtinue to be a vital part of the special team's effort on punt and KO returns.

I'm guessing that Alisa gets the most carries this year, Pritchard second, and Foote third, with Foote getting more carries than Williams, Hine, and Lasike combined.
