One of the reasons the PAC 10.2 rejected BYU is because we're not a research institution.

So BYU would be the 5th most prestigious research school in the Pac12.

Tuition at BYU is less than what an Idaho resident pays to go to BSU, or the U of I for that matter (or most every public university of which I am aware). It is in my humble view an incredibly great value.

While I'm always happy to see us above Utah on any list, this quote kind of destroys their credibility for me.



They also say that BYU is a "private research university". We are private university and there is research that goes on here (I work in the office of research on campus), but it's quite a stretch to classify us as a "research university". I wonder what they based their rankings on?

Maybe success in the research.
