At least they aren't going to lose another BCS Bowl game this year. :P

I truly believe that if Bradford hadn't gone down, OU would still have gone to a BCS bowl game this year. It certainly wouldn't have been the title game and they likely still would have lost to Texas but they probably wouldn't lost to any other teams but BYU and UT.

That is why BYU's losses are so frustrating. It isn't just that we lost to FSU and TCU, it was the way we lost to those teams... at home... after the way we beat OU to start the season.

This almost smacks of throwing in the towel to avoid the appearance that OU could actually have had a... bad season (gasp!). I mean, I know that we have had years where it has just been unreal how the shear number and timing of injuries (especially on the defense) hurt BYU. But this just sounds like a team who thinks there is nothing left to play for since a BCS game is out of the question, so if they all just have season-ending surgeries, then they can effectively dismiss this season as a fluke or anomaly.

Don't all these guys have high school all american players as back ups? Why don't they just step right in and dominate. It seems to me that OK thought they were better then they really were and now have mailed in the season. What a disgrace to the fan support of that team.

Oklahoma is 9th in total defense and 7th in scoring defense. They have lost 4 games by a aggregate total of TWELVE POINTS!!!

To me, that's not a sign of mailing it in. That's a sign of Redshirt Freshman QB playing behind a patchwork OL throwing to woefully inexperienced receivers and TEs with a coaching staff that inexplicably doesn't have confidence in the running game.

You can put a positive spin on it by saying "look how close the games were, they even played Texas within a field goal!" But when you don't even score a touchdown against Nebraska, NEBRASKA? That pretty much says it all.

I didn't necessarily call it mailing it in though it does look suspect when all the players seem to be opting for season-ending surgeries now as opposed to waiting 4 more games.

FWIW I agree with Rasta on this one. It's too bad that OU has had such bad luck in the very year that we beat them, but that's sports...

It's amazing to bring two different 1000+ yard running backs to a fight and end up leaving with 3 measly points and your tail between your legs. I said before the season, and the OU fans mocked me for it: I'm NOT very impressed with the Sooner RB core or the numbers they put up in prior seasons.

Oklahoma has a strong defense, and a bunch of individually good players on the offense. But as a whole, with 3 1-point losses, it's pretty clear that they don't have "IT".
