Wisconsin now official.

The game will be November 13, 2013 in Madison, Wisconsin. Does this bode well for a return trip in November as well?

I hope so...but with the working in the press release, this doesn't sound like the H/H we were hoping for - more like HHN at best.



That said, 2013 is the kind of schedule we were hoping for when Indy was announced. Now let's hope the team can handle it...

I heard that Wisc has tried for years to create a rivalry with Notre Dame, but has always been rebuffed or put on the backburner by the Irish. Wisconsin is probably trying to send a message to Notre Dame that they're done negotiating with them. If so, it sounds like BYU will be the beneficiary of that.

If it really is to be H/H/N, I hope they are considering Vegas for the neutral site. This is probably the best for both teams as Wisconsin travels well to Vegas and/or has a big following here and like coming here (as witnessed by their series with UNLV) and it is close and a good travel spot for BYU fans, especially BYULV ;)

I am with you on THIS.

I think their stadium is too small. Better to do H-H and make more money on ticket sales and lower travel costs.

I don't like a game announced officially as one and done at our opponents home and there is probability that there will be another game. It reminded me of how less significant we are in the scheme of things. I guess my problem was that I read the DH article officially announcing the one game, the DN article telling us that San Diego (Poinsettia Bowl) is glad to have us back in town, but is only paying a paltry $500K, which will not even cover the total costs of the trip, and then JD's unsettling interview with Juice. Not that anything was officially claimed, but that they danced around the issues, never landing on them, but going over top of several.



I just felt very insignificant in the mainstream of college football.



I'm sure everything will work out fine and it was just the sequence of articles that brought me some Cougar blues.

Two points:

I'm more excited about the game being in November than the location. If we can get the NOV schedule fixed, changing the location is going to be easier.



This is really a 2-1 series. The first game was back in 1980.

What in the article (beyond your general pessimism) leads you to think it is "HHN at best"??



All the article mentions is the "rest of the series," which could mean the return game to Provo, a neutral site game, or even a 6 year home-away partnership. It's pretty neutral to me.

Yes I am waiting for the rest of the details. All we know is that there will be more games and it is a given that they will return the game. UW is trying to upgrade their SOS on short notice.

From what I am being told, this will NOT be a home and home. It will be a series of games. More like a 3 for 2, or a 2-2-1. The other games are being worked out, with dates. Wisconsin only rival in the Big TEn is Minnesota, who are awful. THey have tried to get ND, but that has not worked. THey still have big games vs. Michigan, tOSU, but I think they want to add an OOC game with some weight, and like the BYU connection.



Tom Holmoe played for BYU in 1980 when BYU last went to MAdison to play. Brett Bielema, the HC at Wisconsin, played for the Iowa team that ties BYU in the 1991 Holiday Bowl. There is good sentiment for this series on both ends. Plus, it gets Wisconsin on ESPN when they come to Provo, and ESPN games are big tickets in the B10 with other marquee teams to compete against.



ALso hearing BYU is working to line up games with 2 other B10 schools. Now that the B10 lost the P12 crossover and lifted their scheduling freeze, it could happen.



I think Indy is going to be really tough, but very fun and exciting in the future.

I'd be more ok with a 3-2 or a 2-2-1 than a straight up 2-1. Obviously a 1-1 or 2-2 would be preferential, but those are better than a 2-1.
