What has happened to the recruiting class of 2010?

Just curious if anyone can account for each player in that highly touted recruiting class?

Lost:

Drew Phillips

Kori Gaines

Jake Heaps

Tayo Fabuluje

Joshua Quezada

Collin Keoshian

Only Heaps LDS.

If it's a religion thing, that's a major problem.

I believe the players left for the following reasons. Lets look at the reason the each transferred:



Drew Phillips - Academics and did not have his scholarship renewed - transferred to JC in MS

Kori Gaines - Academics

Jake Heaps - Being benched and/or not getting along with Coach Doman - transferred to KS

Tayo Fabuluje - Homesick - transferred to TCU

Joshua Quezada - Probably a combination of losing his brother, losing touches to Michael Alisa, and the emergence of Adam Hine, Paul Lasike and Jamaal Williams

Collin Keoshian - Not enough playing time - now at 2nd CA JC at FB



We still have from that class the follwoing non-LDS players:

Jordan Johnson - starting DB

Dequan Everett - back-up DB

Blair Tushaus - back-up center



I don't believe the LDS atmosphere is why any of these kids transferred!

Technically, IIRC, KVN counts as part if this class since he had to wait a year. And Stoudt is still here. Class is fairly decimated, but there are still some big contributors and some who may yet become big contributors. These two are LDS iirc. Who else is left?

not all that glitters is gold. I remember hearing all about this class and how they would waltz home with a national championship. HA. Maybe that was just the heaps' PR team talking though.

It's still very early to be fully judging the 2010 class. Many are still on missions. Many redshirtied.



Kaveinga has turned out well. Fua looks like he's ready to start contributing. Zac Stout looks like he could be a factor in the two-deep. Blair Tushaus looks like he could see time on the OL. Jordan Johnson may start in the defensive backfield. Graham Rowley has seen plenty of time so far. Ross Apo and KVN are solid starters and big factors on their side of the ball.



That's a fairly sizable number of contributors from a class that's still pretty young.



Every player in every class isn't going to pan out. Your really only need about five or six starters emerge from each recruiting class.

5 or 6 good ones. Every team gets 5 or 6 - otherwise who will start. Some teams jut get a steady stream of crappy or mediocre starters. Elite teams get 5 or 6 future NFL players. BYU gets good results. Top 40 or so on average.
