He is considered a top shelf RB in the class of 2014. Palelei plays for Class 5A East Ascension (Gonzales, La.) and has received an offer from BYU.

Correction - has received offers from LSU, AL and UT.

Originally listed as 5-8/180 as SO. - now reported to be 5-10/195.

Runs 4.4/40; benches 305; squats 585. Scored 7 TDs and 600 all purpose yards as So.

Noted as an explosive back with great vision and sharp cuts - absolute stud.

Heard that he has two cousins from East High that have committed to the Y.

Sione Palelei's high school coach said he is the best he's had (25 years) and is easily one of the top RB's in LA. Parents are very interested in what BYU has to offer for the growth and development of his character as well as his talent. He likes the Y - the feeling is mutual :-)

Talo Steves is reporting that BYU offered him a schollie. He loves the Cougars and grew up in UT before moving to LA. Palelei is related to Cougar commit Meti Taliauli. This would be a huge get as he is a legit 4 star RB.

Keep praying Anae can do something with the OL/Running game to make it worth coming to BYU. It sure would be nice to get a kid like this every once in a while
