Stadium of Fire

My first one. Lots of good music. The Beach Boys were great.



But as the fires were blasting from the endzone seating behind the stage the heat was palpable at my 2nd row seat in the Blue Zone. Then blasts of sparks ensued like machine guns.



It made me think - if we could get all of that burning hell turned on every time an opponent entered the Blue Zone it would be like staring into Hell.



One other metaphorical asteriskical moment for me was Brian Wilson singing God Only Knows Where I'd Be Without You - I could not help but reflect seeing him there as a symbol of a great past but a shadow of his former self due to damage caused by drug indulgence - how short his great career was cut by that and how much music that could have been and would have been - never was. So many tragic endings in Rock N Roll. God Only Knows Where Brian Wilson would have climbed without the drugs that literally brought him to his knees.



Great Music. Great Cars. Great nostalgia. Army of pretty girls in green shorts for the young guys to look upon. Great Fireworks show.



When does football season start and how can we make the Blue Zone Hell when opponents try to enter it?

But to answer your question, it begins and ends with the QB. If he can rally, and it appears that he can, then get in their faces and step it up a notch. Yes, Heaps would get weak kneed. So, Riley, Rise Up, and use one of your greatest assets and stir up some Blue Zone whup A**.

I am wondering how to make it like staring into Hell when the opponent has on some rare occasion worked themselves into position to score.

Well then, the D does more consistently provide that view by stiffening and steeping up aggression. The O needs to step up similarly w aggression

Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to have too many problems offensively in 2012 at home. I don't see a team that will be able to challenge us in Provo. I expect six comfortable to blow out victories in Lavell Edwards Stadium.



How do we create a Blue Zone of Hell on the road - where there actually will be teams and defenses that can prevent our offensive from producing fireworks on the field and setting their stadiums afire?

Three things I thought of while at Stadium of Fire were:

1. This stadium is just too small.

2. Cell phones with their flashlight apps turned on sure look cool at night, especially when a lot of them are turned on. Night games with a half-time show where the lights were turned off for five minutes could be developed into something cool. I've had enough of us only copying other schools' ?chants? like the chomping alligator, etc. I know that's not directly comparible but you know what I mean.

3. If we had to have a corporate- sponsored name, "Stadium of Fire" is probably the only good name out there, current or potential. Keeping the color blue in the picture, a part of a flame that is particularly hot is blue. The flames from the minitowers that were in the Stadium of Fire program generated a striking amount of heat. Back to the real subject: "Stadium of Fire" is probably a name that could be started and spread just by fans. TV analysts would likely love to perpetuate it. If the football team is good and not just when playing patsy teams, that is. BYU's administration would be helpless to stop it.

p.s. what recruit wouldn't jump at the chance to play in the Stadium of Fire?

Stadium of Fire, aka, the Devils Den? Hmmm,..... Would be nice if we played that way. And certainly getting more blue in the stands, since loser fans who don't, won't!! do it!!!
