BSU Deadlne w/Big East - BYU Looking Smart

BSU needs to commit by June 30 or risk 5 million dollars payout. They are trying to find a home for their non-Olympic sports and without automatic bowl qualifications based upon preferred conferences, potentially considering staying put in MWC until more settled realingnment scenrios occur.



BYU looks very smart not pulling the trigger too soon to Big E., and with a successful Indy program, will be in a much better negotiating position, the next round of discussions with any major conference. In the meantime, the long-term BSU series looks great due not only due to top quality opponent but favorable geographic location - nationally televised and guaranteed sellouts.

BYU will look smart when they pass up this MUBAR!!!!

This messed version of a conference is somewhere between Misfit Island and the old WAC-16.



It's just the "has-been" programs mixed with the "wannabes" that will not find the mythical seat at the table of the big-boys that just got a lot smaller and more protected than ever!!



Don't do it BYU! This is a total farce!



Thank goodness the Brethren and Board are not prone to making snap or generally unwise decisions--except for the whole MWC media handshake. I doubt anyone will "fool them twice".

Maybe Boise should go indy in football and see if the WCC will take their other sports?

Byu is in a fairly unique position. Not sure bsu could survive Indy. Byutv makes all the difference.

You can't botch what you don't have. BYU wasn't "in" the Big XII and then choose not to join. And TCU has a lawsuit on their hands and is scrambling to get out of a buyout clause for their "passing up on the Big East."

Ohs noes, TCU is spending $5MM once in order to make $20MM a year, and fill their schedule with Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas Tech, etc. How horrible for them.

ha ha. TCU indeed looks smart. But then, they got an invitation. BYU may have had an invite but but if they did get one, it was incompatible with the mission of BYU. oh well. Life (and indy) goes on.

why indeed? BSU sounds ready to schedule BYU without having them in some relationship involving our television station. And that's really the only BSU game that I care about.
