Does BYU get all its best athletes early in recruiting seaso

Naturally how do you quantify best athletes... let's say those with the most offers and options.



I think I read a quote from Doman saying that their most recruited athletes come early which explains why we're seeing all of these offers right now to JC's and recruits with few stars. This is not meant to be a star and ranking conversation, just a timing one. it seems like we had 8 scholarships to give out a few weeks ago and the ones that re getting them are not exactly the five star recruits. It seems like we're not saving schollies for anyone and according to Scout.com, we've only got one four-star recruit.



again, not meant to be a "stars are worthless" conversation, just a timing and class quality conversation since it seems like this class is on the weaker side of things.

I thought coach said that he wanted to hold a few for the late bloomers who have a good senior year. There are less than 8 left after the committments we have gotten the last week. Not sure how many are left at this point.

BYU doesn't do well when trying to get guys late in the process.

Bottom line is this:



BYU coaches - last year - said they learned their lesson - should not have committed so many schollies early - as they felt they missed some good opportunities late - due to having used all the schollies.



It is really not that late in the process now - but do we have any hot prospects in the weeds? Not many, if any in reality.



Late bloomers and late decides are a November and December kind of opportunity.



We will not know how this late bloomer / decider thing works out - UNTIL - later!



Up to this point - class seems like same old same old to me.

Cody Hoffman was the last recruit offered three years ago if I remember correctly.

And his other offer was UC Davis. He was an under the radar guy. Surprised that Utah did not offer him.
