Good Omen

I live in St George and My wife and I were deciding where to eat tonight. My desire for Pizza won out (my wife is unfortunately a Ute - don't hate on me). Anyway I went to seat myself and low and behold Kyle Van Noy was at the table next to us. He saw that i recognized him so i walked up and itroduced myself and let him know I am a big fan. He told me we'd have a great season. I believe the man and I'm glad my dining desire won out over my Ute wife! By the way he looked huge!

Dayumn!!! What a treat. KVN is my favorite Cougar football player. I think Kyle is right. I expect some great things this season. I believe the Cougs will rise and meet the challenges before them.

If the defense can play at least as well as they did last year, I believe the offense will be significantly better this year. We cannot possibly start out as bad as we did last year, offensively speaking, so I believe BYU will beat at least two of their big four games (ND, Utah, Boise, GT), and maybe more. Notre Dame is beatable, Utah is beatable, Boise has a new QB and must replace a bunch of key players, don't know about GT. This will be at least a ten win season. Van Noy will be an All-American this year.

If the Defense was a 7 last year on a a 1-10 scale, I think they get to an 8 and maybe if lucky a 9 this year.

I would say the Offense (over the whole year) was a 5. Which means the RN offense was a 6 and the JH was a 4. This year I think the O will be a 7 at best. Which would be an improvement. But it will have a problem scoring enough points in the tough games bc RN will not be able to deliver enough consistent passes down field and the D's will close in around him.



Overall, the D at an 8 or 9 and O at a 7 or if lucky an 8, and we have a pretty good year and yes, pick up 2 wins of the 4 tough games. Which makes a pretty darn good season.

Expect the offense to be significantly better than last year because Riley will not only understand his reads and be used to the flow of the game, he will spread the ball around. Falslev and Matthews became part of the offense under Riley, and the RBs are also supposed to factor into the passing game. We don't need to be flinging the ball downfield to keep the DBs on their toes, we need to have more than two people that they can key on. Additionally, Doman will be running a fast paced offense designed to keep the D off-balance and from developing any rythmn or anticipation of plays. If Riley continues to be opportunistic on 3rd down, red zone conversions, and especially turning D-created turnovers, we will score effectively. Bottom line, team will be better than last year and I feel will win as many games if not more.
