Google and Privacy

Since the Google Maps is suddenly back in the news I thought I would share this tidbit with you:



Go to Google Maps and search for 2335 W 800 N, Provo, Utah.



Enter street view and take a look at the yellow house on the south side of the street.



That guy in the black DC Shoes hoodie in the carport? That's snoscythe circa 2008 at our old house. The wife's there too, and I think you can make out our first in a pack-n-play in the carport there as well as we did some yard work.



So now when people make a big deal about it, you can say--hey, I know a guy who is on streetview and he doesn't care. Then again, I'm not naked or changing my clothes or anything like that....

If Americans were really concerned about privacy, facebook wouldn't be that popular.

OK, I checked out my house. When the google guy came by, our family was apparently gone, and it caught my father in law stopping by and going through my garage... The approach shows his truck in my drive way, then his truck gone, and my garage door closing as the google car drove by... This is pretty funny....

I don't really care about the google stuff, but I respect those who feel their privacy is being invaded. And I don't think that most people on facebook realize just how much info facebook is gathering on them.
