CougarbibI just drove from Las Vegas to Provo / SLC. Something was bugging the HECKCK out of me, but it took me a while to figure it OUT!
RED U on many license plates. Double Red U on some. It seemed like 80% of the cars had those U plates in U Crimson Red. Then I looked closer. Many just said Utah in RED and had stickers on both sides indicating expiration year and month - often both Red.
Then the trailer hitch covers and spare tire covers and rear window stickers - Crimson Red Utah colors on nearly every vehicle. Even some out of state plates had that same red color. OK - then you have your red fire hydrants and fire trucks and ambulances.
Not much Blue. A hint of blue on mountains on the ski Utah plate with Red Utah of course.
There was more of a desert and sandstone style plate - little or no red.
What can be done?
Legislative and grass roots revolution - Blue UTAH plates required by law!
Or at least run out to your Suburban right now and check your plates. If they have any red on them at all - rip them off and get the desert rock style plates.
Fess up - are you part of the problem - or part of the solution.
Seriously - I am seeing more U fans wearing U attire or PAC 12 attire than ever before.
Not seeing many people strutting around in the Blue.
Take back your STATE. The locals need to do this.
