Here's how I would rate the recent rash of thuggery:

1. NM soccer player: cheap shot after cheap shot after cheap shot

2. Florida eye gouge: the runner is pinned down, can't protect himself. Especially lame since Spikes wears an eye shield.

3. Blount KO: the coach clearly knew his guy was mouthing off as he tries to pull him back. Blount was merely wiping that stupid smirk off the BSU kid's face for him. His problem was acting like a douche for the next 10 minutes.

This smells like the beginnings of celebrity justice. A whole lot of show. Not a lot of justice.

He and the UNM player who obviously can't control their faculties for 90 or whatever minutes need to be removed from competitive sports....

or thrown into cage fighting.

Corny . . . but I actually laughed out loud.

All three were classless, but Lambert is in another category altogether. Blount and Spykes were after provocation, and were both single incidents. Lambert, on the other hand, wasn't provoked (for argument's sake) to the degree the others were, and most of all, it was repeated. She committed a catalog of personal fouls, many worthy of a red card. Lambert needs to get a pyscho eval.

I know some guys that would want to date her, though.

Agreed. But at least Oregon delivered at least 6 or 7 games of justice. Spikes getting 1/2 game, upgraded to 1 game against a cellar dweller is ridiculous.

Also agreed about the glass chin.
