Papa Brown said that Terrance was released from the Miami Dolphins yesterday. He was a bit surprised. Immediately he was contacted by the Utah Blaze, but he wishes to explore other free agent opportunities in the NFL first.

I wish him luck.

that's too bad. I was pulling for him.

Does Papa Brown have Andy Reid's number?

I'm surprised I haven't seen any tweets on the subject from the local media folks. I thought these announcements went out over the wire and it was something worth noting for BYU fans.

The Daily Herald tweeted it.

HE should not be surprised. HE was terrible last year. 30 lbs lighter perhaps, but willing to bet still terrible.

Yeah Lawboy - I would imagine each NFL team must be required to give a tryout to a TERRIBLE, SIMPLY TERRIBLE, offensive lineman as a community service.

BYU graduates a handful of borderline NFL talented players every year. It is just possible that they did the best they were capable of, and are good football players - not great football players - not terrible football players.

Maybe you could organize an annual beat down of all of the terrible BYU players that do not make an NFL roster. Be sure to include those who did not even get a sniff. You can put an asterisk by those.

I would guess that 90% of BYU players never even sniff the NFL. Maybe they should go play elsewhere - we do not need their fat asterisks - right ?

Nah, I just beat down on those that actually decide to get serious about their weight and mobility to play good football AFTER they leave BYU.

You know, those that start simply because the options behind them are so inexperienced(Tushaus) and limited, or injury plagued(H. Reynolds) that coaches have no choice.

Then, their play is so poor in big games (Utah) that they can't even snap the ball, and they totally whiff on blocks coming right to them all game long (Texas, UCF).

Addition by subtraction for 2012.

And - since they had no choice - I suppose it was a good thing that we had his terrible fat asterisk around when needed. Sheesh.

Too bad he was cut, I remember him starting at guard in 09, he probably played out of position at center but was our best option. Ps having played center, that gun snap is more difficult than you'd think.

This. Fat lazy slob, taking up a scholarship but not getting into shape until after he graduates...

I hope that he breaks his leg...

He would have to get on the field first.

I read that he got a call from a local team in a lower tier league, but passed it up to try for another NFL team. Anybody heard any more on that.

No venom here. I hope he gets a break - no pun intended - and that he actually is good enough and works hard enough to take advantage of it. Not holding my breath - just hoping for the best for all BYU guys.

Same for Matt Reynolds. Glad he stayed for his senior season.

But with all the venom dripping for OL 2011, it reminds me of WR 2010.

It seems that TB has stolen Luke Ashworth's place and MR has taken over for MJ.

For whom - I mean which position group - will the most venom drip in 2012. Consider this a poll suggestion.

TE, FB, RB, ST, and QB are the likely contenders with DL and DB long-shot possibilities. OK - OL has a shot at repeating for the crown. But not WR or LB. Those will be golden.

Coaches have a shot for the crown too.

The Utah Blaze contacted him. He will try NFL first. A lot more money there if he can make it.

TBrown was only given a shot because of his measurables. He is a terrible blocker (at least the 75 lbs overweight version of him was) and horrible snapper. His measurables are there. A huge waste of talent, if you ask me.

Oh well, I'd be fine if I never heard the name TBrown again. And most likely, I won't have to after a season or two. I don't like what it does to my inner beast.

Is brother still with Miami?

I hope all works out for TBrown in the end. You get what you sow.

What I really hope, though, is TBrown serves as an example to current BYU players and staff. Take you job seriously, maximize your potential while in college and you'll have a better shot. If TBrown had done so during his playing time at college, not only would the NFL combine cramming not been needed, but he would have been a better player, likely would have had more attention, and potentially more than one NFL team interested in him. What's he got now...

I hope the best for Terrance as well. I think the lack of his reaching his potential are a combination of Terrance, O-line coaching, and strength & condition coaches. I hope we have improved our situation with strength & condition coaches, and I like Doman's emphasis on quicker o-linemen.
