Isn't Shipley a name that belongs at a school like Texas?

Committed to BYU today.

Shipley had offers from Oregon State and Wyoming, but decided on BYU after a week at camp...close friends with Leavitt and Kearsley

One month after committing, he changes his mind and de-commits. Not sure why - possibly because his friend Johnny Ragin isn't coming to the Y as well?

'I jumped on it and kind of made a quick decision, Shipley said. All this time that I had thinking about it just made me think, Why am I not looking at other schools?

Shipley said the Cougars are still right at the top of his list, but he is now also looking at Oregon State and Wyoming.

Ive got to make this decision with my family and really analyze it, because this is a life decision and Ive got to do whats right for me, he said. I just think it was too quick."'

Received offers from Oregon State and Wyoming. Makes you wonder who he is pursuing or if Bronco feels it is worth going after like he did with J. Peoples.

Sooo - before Shipley committed, he didn't realize this was a "life decision" and he was making a decision that was "right for me."

Interesting. Obviously, he's shopping, looking for what might be a "better deal." Hmmmmm ......

Apparently he felt like the team was like family and cared for him. He is now one of the band or brothers. Hope he gets Johnny Ragin to commit and strengthen Kearsley to hold fast with his verbal commit.

He actually committed at high noon today 11/27/12 so BroncoBot had inside scoop. Hope that they keep him at WR and not DB as he is a TD machine.

Ha, wish i had any sort of inside scoop. I just happened to be awake when drewjay was tweeting about it.

But I totally agree, it sounds like this kids' hands are way to good to be put on the defensive side of the ball. Sounds like he's torn up about every camp that he attends.

Heard from Wilsonville last night that Shipley is now "soft" on BYU and that he went on a recruiting trip with Jonny Ragin to Cal.

This is the danger of gathering so many early recruits. They may go soft.

I think overall, it works out pretty well for BYU.

Is he still going to visit Boise State as well?

All I have heard about is the Cal visit and that he came back "soft" on BYU. I know Atuaia and Poppinga were in Wilsonville Tuesday or Wednesday for his hoops game, but that may have been more about Ragin.

Visited and committed to BSU. Nice call.

Claims the lack of a WR coach helped to change his decision. My take, very unstable recruits who commit, recommit, decomit...need to secure ones that honor their words. Both Ragin, Shipley, Orphey, et. al. all had trouble keeping their word.
