Utah / BSU Short week

The exact time of the Utah game hasn't been set yet, so the date could change, but as we know, right now BYU's playing the Broncos 5 days after we play Utah. At least it's not the other way around, but if you could increase the odds of winning one game at the cost of decreasing the odds of winning the other, would you do it? Up to what point?



Personally, I'd take a sure win over Utah followed by a blowout to BSU. Throw everything at Utah; hold nothing back. Play mean and nasty (but never dirty) and sacrifice some bodies that won't be healed up in time for BSU. "Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord" and this IS the Lord's University. I want revenge. :munch:

Absolutly would take a win over the Utes. The Bronco's have been great to BYU. Beating Utah a few times back in the 90's when they were nobody's and stealing Utah's thunder as the BCS busters was fantastic.



The Utah game is way more important this year after losing 2 in a row.

Ditto!! We keep losing ground of the Utes. It starts to look like domination if we lose again, especially after last years blow out.



Besides, after a win over the Utes, we would have more momentum and "ride" that right into the Broncos smurf turf.

I think in that case, projectile vomiting would be ok.

Not sure - but it feels like we are on an 0-2 run against both of them and we can at least point back to better times vs U.



Play it straight up. But since playing it straight up means playing every game like it is the only game and we do play Utah first - this seems like a stupid question because the result is the same.



But as to whether we would hold something back vs Utah to get a better shot at the Donkeys on short rest - Hell no.

You don't hold anything back vs the :utard: even if you are up 60 to 0.

If I recall correctly, in 2006 we beat the crap out of an old in state rival (USU), then went on the road and beat the crap out of a new conference rival on a short week (#15/#17 TCU). We can take Utah out behind the woodshed Saturday, and turn around and do the same thing to Boise St. There's no reason to think we can't. Especially if you've got two games with WSUs before those two.



You know what else I remember? I remember losing in embarrassing fashion to Utah in '88. What happened next year? Complete annihilation.

The only difference this year is that when we're up 42-0, we'll do an onsides kick, and Whittingham will flip us the bird. :evil:

I have dreams of K Whitt flipping the bird after an onsides with us having a huge lead. :lol:

I'm all for winning both games. However, if one must be lost, I'd much rather lose to Boise St. than the :utard:. This is the year that I want BYU to hold nothing back. I want them to go in with emotion, and anger, and beat the tar out of them. I want to see a :utard: team so demoralized that they go on to lose every other game this year. I want BYU to obliterate them. Then they can do the same to Donkey St. But Utah must die this year.
