Without a doubt one of the best athletes in the country! He could be one heck of a receiver, but honestly, he could be a world class safety if he decided to play there.

I don't know much about this kid. What's his 40 time and vertical? What else makes him an elite athlete?

He has a 39" vertical leap as demonstrated on this signature play where hehe jumps over a defender and lands a full front flip in the end zone. Enough said:

Think of a more athletic Jackson Emery. His athleticism was obvious as Lone Peak played some of the best prep teams in the country in hoops. But more than a 40 time and hops (both of which he has) he's just a natural athlete and competitor, with incredible hands great balance and uncanny footwork. Dave Rose had offered him a hoops scholarship for goodness sake.

He's bigger, faster and stronger than Ross Apo was at the same point in time in his prep career btw. The only difference is that he's white and he lives in Utah.

This is a big deal to get Shumway and anyone that has seen him compete in a sport will tell you that other than Cooper Bateman, Shumway was the biggest recruit in the state for football. Our current run of awesome receivers continues..... (though I think he'd make for an amazing safety)

He must have just met a Yewt boasting about his team and their projected victories.

Interesting. Good stuff, thanks.

Now if we could just get a qb to deliver the ball to these super studs. Kidding. I'm kidding...mostly. ;)

Both Cahoon and Bronco very influential in helping him decide about uniting with the Cougs. He really likes BC approach in instructing the WRs.

I find it amusing that he had offers from both Utah and USU - however, he didn’t feel that they offered the complete package like BYU did for him as a player and as a student.

I'm excited about this receiver. I've heard he has really good hands.
