What if?

Previously Cougarcaveman, been so long since I posted I forgot my password. Always reading cougarcorner rarely posting. I am not that witty and do not have sources or connections close to the program.



The question. I have read that Boise State is considering returning to the MWC because of the recent BCS changes and lack of auto-qualifying position. Also the WAC may disappear leaving non-football sports in even worse position (BIG WEST). Boise State's position is all dependent upon the $$$ coming from new big east TV contract.



What kind of position would the MWC be in if Boise, San Diego and BYU came back to The MWC in negotiating television contracts. Could BYU keep BYU TV and espn deals return to MWC and keep better series with ND and TX.



Not saying I want this. Not at all. But would this scenario have any viability. Why or Why not?

The MWC is still under its TV contract with Comcast (via CSTV).



The mtn is dead, but the other side of the table remains the same for BYU.

BYU/Boise State/SDSU/Houston, etc would always be an interesting core to form a NEW conference with a NEW tv deal. Go ahead and throw Air Force, UNLV, UTEP, Nevada, Hawaii, and Fresno in there too. The television questions would be, HOW MUCH (close to what BYU is making right now?), WHO (ESPN?), HOW MANY (close to ALL games?), and WHO ELSE (BYUtv rights, re-streaming rights, internet rights, local broadcast rights, etc).

I agree, with the one exception being that I would guess that BYU would take less money in trade for better rights to conference road games on BYUtv (broadcast, rebroadcsst replay on demand etc)
