Just saw that Paul Lasike was offered schollie. Bronco and company must see some potential. Doman has already stated that he like a 2-back pro set with multiple options to utilize skill set of the RBs. Presently he was leaning towards pairing Juice and Alisa. However, a Pritchard - Lasike combo could be equally devastating given the bruising style each player brings - both are very hard runners and Pritchard catches the ball better than any back. Lasike supposedly has Fui Vakapuna's hard-nosed running style. If they pick up the blocking schemes on passing plays - this combo might be the next Tonga-Unga combo which should yield high productivity. Throw in Hine and Williams together and we have several potent combinations to choose from depending on defensive alignments and susceptibility.

Fui had a hard-nosed running style? Seemed to me that he liked to dance around instead of just going N-S.

I just want BYU to find 1 guy to be productive with. Anything above that is bonus, but we need one guy willing to shoulder the bulk of the load, like Staley, Brown and Unga did.

Just a quick reminder of how tough Fui and Manase were to bring down. Eventually Fui yielded to another bruiser with quick feet and great change of direction (Harvey Unga).

A haiku to Fui:

He ran so dang hard

To pick up one or two yards

It was fun to watch

None of this matters if our offensive line is soft again.

Fui's Sophomore year (2006) was the most fun RB play to watch since Staley's Sr year. And we haven't had a Manase since Manase. The guy did everythign. If we can get a tandem like that in the backfield again, I'll be one happy homer.

Amen to that! The "Pineapple Express" was probably the best tandem (most fun to watch, anyway) ever in the history of BYU.
