BYU practicing in pads again

Listening to the post game show on KSL and JJ told Wrubell that BYU practiced in pads again this week, as the defense felt they played more aggressively when they do.

It showed! There were some good hits and clean tackles. Keep it up!

In the past, I have stood with Bronco on the pads issue. I don't think that stance is justified any more after seeing the defense today (I cede the point Mars ;) ). The front seven was a completely different unit, and Jan Jorgensen was blowing up double-teams all afternoon. This was the defense we saw in Dallas and Nawlins. With the D-Line in hyphenated-quarterback's grill all afternoon, the weakness at ILB couldn't be exploited--panicked quarterbacks throw to the sidelines, not the middle.



When was the last time we had a shut-out 50-point victory on the road? Much less Laramie in November!



Maybe Bronco knew what he was talking about when he said the 2009 TCU game would be remembered like the 2005 SDSU game. Let's just keep the pedal to the metal from here on out.
