I understand that today, 10 former Cougars attended:

Offensive linemen:

Matt Reynolds

Terence Brown

Defensive linemen:

Hebron Fangupo

Matt Putnam

Defensive backs:

Corby Eason

Travis Uale

Linebackers:

Jordan Pendleton (didn't work out)

Jameson Frazier,

Wide receiver:

McKay Jacobson

Running back:

JJ Di Luigi

They worked out and showcased their skills as they lifted, jumped, ran and went through multiple drills for over 15 NFL scouts.

Any word on who was impressive and who looks like they will get drafted (besides Reynolds and Fangupo)?

The best result from Pro Day is that the BYU staff finally figured out that players work out different to prep for Pro Day. And now perhaps BYU will adjust coaching to compensate for that. What could it mean? Leaner Oline who are quicker, with drills and training for power and speed and burst for other positions.

In other words--training the team now as if they are all prepping for Pro Day throughout the season. Its about time.

Did someone tell you that?

One word - linemen. They had lost weight and were mobile. Where was this training dedication and program during the summer? Had they been in Pro Day shape during regular season-we have better record, more dominant team.

Yeah, someone who attend BYU Alumni Day, which occurred the Day after NFL Day at BYU. During that practice, players got asked why some of them work harder to prep for NFL Scout Day and try to get in better shape for that one day than they do for when they play Football at BYU. This reference is to T. BRown, who dropped like 60-70 lbs to get ready, and Matt Reynolds, who dropped like 30-40 lbs himself to get ready.

Basically, the coaches are aware it is happening, and are now going to do something about it, as I referenced in another thread. BYU is hiring a group to come in and assess the S&C/Nutrition program for BYU football, as well as positional drills. BYU has the facilities in place to excel. Just need to improve the program.

Interesting observations by Gill Brant (Cowboys) who is impressed by McCay Jacobsen and feels that he has a good future in the NFL as a slot back (IMO similar to Wes Welker's role). He ran a 4.5/40 and had a 38-inch vertical jump. Wonder if he was playing hurt the entire 2011 year while with the Cougs as he never seemed to be a go to receiver although he made several game altering catches during his career (OU, USU, Tulsa...).

McKay is a great WR. You know, if dropping the ball isn't a big deal.

Okay, now I feel like a jerk. Best of luck to him.

You're getting better, at least you didn't wish him to break his leg...

At the time he was applying for some jobs with the mafia and got a little carried away in his enthusiasm.

Hey at least you didn't mention giving up on completely catchable balls and not running out your routes.

Jacobsen had up and down moments - highs and lows - and never appeared to live up to expectations. However, let us not forget, he could make the big play. His last two catches in the USU game were huge and was what allowed Riley and company to march down the field and score the winning TD and right the season. Similar situation vs Tulsa, and obviously OK (winning TD). If Gil Brandt says he has a future in the NFL, there is some teeth to it, regardless of opinions of CC talent scout opinions.

read somewhere on ESPN that said Fangupo was a possible 2nd rnd pick. I'll try and find the link.

That would be cool. Click on Loni and see what conference he was in.
