Ideal Schedule

If you could do the schedule, what would it look like?

Week 1: at Arizona State (at Mile High Stadium in Denver)

Week 2: Weber State

Week 3: Texas

Week 4: Utah

Week 5: Utah State (General Conference weekend)

Week 6: BYE

Week 7: at Wisconsin

Week 8: Houston

Week 9: Georgia Tech

Week 10: at Tennessee (at Arlington, TX)

Week 11: at Notre Dame

Week 12: Boise St.

Week 13: at Hawaii

First Round of Playoffs: Bye

Second Round of Playoffs (in Provo): Oklahoma

Final Four (at Cotton Bowl): v. Oregon

National Championship (in Pasadena): v. Alabama



This schedule gives BYU 7 home games, 2 neutral site games at stadiums where a good BYU turnout is likely, and 3 true road games at cool venues (Madison, Notre Dame, and Honolulu!)



I see three great "A" games (Texas, at Wisconsin, at Notre Dame), six solid "B" games (Arizona St., Utah, Tennessee, Houston, Georgia Tech, and Boise St.), two decent "C" games with traditional opponents (Utah State, Hawaii), and one gimme with Weber State.



The playoff game in Provo against Oklahoma in December would be epic. As would the New Year's Day Cotton Bowl match-up with Oregon, and obviously, the National Title game at the Rose Bowl against Alabama (or any SEC champ!).

I like it. You could have a 13th game since you are at Hawaii.

Yeah, and did you also see that several major programs have asked for a H/H/N arrangement? I don't believe we have agreed to any and WE NEVER SHOULD. Did you get that I said NEVER. Accepting such an arrangement would be the demise of our program and it reflects the sorry age of college football when BCS teams are asking for such arrangements because they are so selfishly one-sided. You can survive with a few 2-fers, but never without a return game. It shows the lack of honor that has taken over the game in that those programs won't even extend the courtesy of a 2-fer, when they should really be doing H/H in the first place. I'm getting very dissatisfied with Div 1 FB.

A coworker thinks that the individual who posted that comment about some major teams turning down a H/H/N arrangement, believes they actually meant, "Home/Away/Neutral". That I don't have any problem with, even if the neutral game is much closer to the BCS team. It's like some people say "home and home" and some people say "home and away" and they both mean the same thing.
