How does Carlino rate amongst WCC starting PG's? FACTS

I went through and got the stats for every single starting point guard in the WCC and tallied their stats to reflect 40 min averages (since some played more and some played less.)



Here are the results over 40 minutes averaged:



USCM - Evan Roquemore - Sophomore



34% FG, 34% 3pt, 79% FT, 3.6 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 3.3 TO's, .38 blocks, 1 steal, 16 points



USF - Cody Doolin - Sophomore



41% FG, 32% 3pt, 75% FT, 3.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.9 TO's, .07 blocks, 2 steals, 11.3 points



USD - Anderson - Freshman



48% FG, 34% 3pt, 61% FT, 3.8 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 3.8 TO's, .2 blocks, 2.5 steals, 8.9 points



SMC - Dellavadova - Junior



45% FG, 36% 3pt, 85% FT, 3.5 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 3 TO's, .04 blocks, 0.9 steals, 16.6 points



Portland - Douglas - Junior



43% FG, 28% 3pt, 82% FT, 2.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 4.3 TO's, .04 blocks, 0.8 steals, 12 points



Perpperdine - Willis - Junior



40% FG, 34% 3pt, 74% FT, 4.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 2.4 TO's, .08 blocks, 1.2 steals, 7 points



LMU - Ireland - Sophomore



43% FG, 33% 3pt, 77% FT, 4.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 3.3 TO's, 0 blocks, 1.7 steals, 18.4 points



Gonzaga - Pangos - Freshman



43% FG, 40% 3pt, 85% FT, 3.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.3 TO's, .04 blocks, 1.4 steals, 16.8 points



And Finally, Carlino - BYU - Freshman



41% FG, 35% 3pt, 75% FT, 4.1 erbounds, 6.0 assists, 3.5 TO's, .4 blocks, 1.8 steals, 16.8 points

So how does he stack up against the league's starting PG's?

Carlino - 41% FG, 35% 3pt, 75% FT, 4.1 rpg, 6.0 apg, 3.5 TO's, .4 blk, 1.8 stl, 16.8 ppg

Great analysis. Really, I don't think we have much to worry about with Carlino. What we saw was a freshman learning the ropes this season.

I'm not sure about that, if you look at the head to head matchup in the other Carlino stat post, it looks like he's clearly the 4th in head to head matchup.

Hawk faired much better in this head-to-head match up of Carlino stats posts.

But thanks nonetheless for all the stat search.



I do have a question though. Is it me or does there seem to be a schizophrenic nature to Carlinos game? Yes, he had stellar games v Baylor and USF. But it just seems so much more frenetic with him in there.

Ummm... it's pretty bad. Those are his numbers over 40 mins, not based on backup numbers. So that is his "projected" impact if he played 40 mins a game (not his actual statistics)

Just for fun...Martineau has played a grand total of 174 min over his three year career. He didn't play at all his freshman year. Racked up 121 min in 2011 and nabbed 53 min this last season.

We had more blowouts last year with Jimmer to get some PT for the subs.
