Bad Showing By West Coast

BYU won it's first game for a 14 seed and then went on to lose in the first round to Marquette, a 3 seed. That loss was probably expected, not much harm.



SMC lost to Purdue. Not a good showing at all by SMC.



GU won it's first game and lost it's second. Not horrible, but they got no further than they did last season.



Two rounds into the tournament, all WCC team are out. Not a good showing by the WCC given it's the first year in who knows how long that they've gotten 3 teams in. Was hoping at least 1 of the 3 would go to the Sweet 16.



Course the MWC, by comparison, didn't fair any better really with UNM the only team of 4 to make it past the first round. Pac12 wasn't good either, though Colorado did pull the upset over UNLV and make it to the 2nd round.



All in all, not a good showing by the West.

I will add one more view to this, those other teams wins were only those.that were gauranteed. UNLV or Colorado had to win, and New Mexico or Long Beach had to win.
