Forgive me Brigham for I have sinned

I passed on a trip to Dayton and shell out $80 cuz I figured I'd catch them in Louisville Thursday. Watching the first have on TV was pure agony, it was painful and I told myself I couldn't bare to watch another half of that, and then the disappointment of not going to see the Cougs set in. Filled with mental anguish I sunk to the point I was on the brink of dispare. I Turned The TV Off!!!



Oh the shame of it all, I don't deserve to call myself a Coug!!!



Maybe someday when I've demonstrated my loyalty, Cosmo and Bro Brigham can forgive me. Until then I here by affirm I will never, never ever turn off a BYU game, no matter how ugly or desperate the outcome!!! If you see me at the game Thursday never mind the sackcloth and ashes. :~(

I'm guessing there were quite a few BYU fans that turned the tv off in the 1st half. Especially in the eastern time zone. I did.. and it makes me sick.

My wife kept yapping about how bad we are and such and how I should turn it off. Man, am I glad I don't listen to my wife... TIC. Seriously though, what an amazing way to win a game. I really am proud of how the team rallied together and people made plays, calmed down and stopped turning the ball over. It really rattled Iona when BYU actually started playing their game better and calmed down. Great game, hopefully it builds good momentum going into tomorrow. Never been prouder that I don't turn it off until all hope is gone and even then most times I don't.

I watched it downstairs with my 21 year-old son. He looked at me and said, "You gonna keep watching this carnage?" I replied, "These are my Cougs and I won't be able to watch them again until next Oct/Nov. So I'm going to suck this one up and keep watching."



Amazing how little decisions can lead to big things.

I was tempted to turn it off midway through the 1st half. When they went on a bit of a run and closed the gap to 15, a sliver of optimism emerged. Enough to keep me watching. 10 min into the 2nd half winning suddenly became a real possibility. Great game, Cougs!

If you were within a 2-3 hour drive of Dayton and didn't go, then you'll be kicking yourself for life. This game goes down in BYU lore and without a doubt is in the top ten BYU sporting events ever.

Sack cloth and ashes will now be fashionable attire as most on this board were writing the game off in the beginning. I could here crickets chirping when I entered on the forum (after work and trying to find somewhere to follow the game) to tout what was going on. It ain't over till the fat lady sings...even if she is off key.

I'm at work today, so I don't know how much of the game I'll be able to watch. The Brethren seem to get the game on in some conference room in our department, so I've never seen where we haven't been able to watch a game, but I haven't yet checked out the possibilities. Ultimately I have the DVR set at home. Because of the sacred DVR, I many times turn off BYU games due to the beauty of being able to watch if they come back. I've watched a few clunkers if they were close. I simply do not handle blowouts of my Cougs and unless I'm forced, I don't watch them. I'm okay too for a game like today where I know they are supposed to lose. For some reason there is a difference and it doesn't stress me out the same and I can watch. It's losing the games we should win that drive me to hiding under a rock.

At work today too and to make matters worse I got my times mixed up. I forgot to account for Eastern time and thought the game was on at 3 pm today. My original plan was to record the game and sneak home at 4 when everyone left for an All Hands meeting.



Guess I'll have to take a long lunch today...
