Read all three in the series. Made me a little more of a pacifist.

Good books, didn't end great, but endings are the hardest part of a story.

It has been one of the most effective tools in getting my classes to read. The ending itself wasn't bad, it was just extremely rushed. The last book needed to be drawn out into two.



PS-Capital City is the Wasatch Front.

It was a good series. Not great. Maybe something to re-read in a decade when my boys are older.

Finished book 1 last night. Good story. The ending could have been better.

Read Book 1 because my kids love it so much. It was OK. Entertaining, light reading. If I like the movie, I'll probably read Book 2 before the next movie comes out. In no hurry otherwise.

Have you gotten to the part where Collins reveals Peeta and Gale are secret lovers?

I was more shocked by the fact that Prim was a double-agent, working against her "sister." Also, who'd have thought that the cat would be the key to the whole thing? Crazy!

I agree with the other sentiments here. Entertaining easy read. I wasn't a big fan a the ending either, but it's all good. None of books are exactly bound to become timeless classics, but I think they'll transfer really well to the big screen. My wife and I are excited to see it.

I loved the first book, liked the second, could barely stand the third. It bummed me out so bad I didn't read another book for over a month (which is really saying something for me).

My wife had the exact same reaction, which is why I chose not to pick up book one... I'll wait for the movie

Why do we use the phrase "pure garbage?" I don't think I have ever seen garbage that is pure. In fact, my experience with garbage has been quite the opposite of what you might call pure.



Complete garbage has a similar issue. How do you know garbage is complete? If garbage is abandoned waste, how can we be sure that this is all the waste that was meant to be abandoned? Perhaps some fell by the wayside, or dripped out of a leaky trash bag. In that case, the garbage is not complete, but in fact, it is incomplete.
