Spend the next 24 months focusing on saving souls. Don't give football a second thought. Eat what you want. Gain weight. Lose weight. Doesn't matter. In fact, 50 - 70 years from now what you do the next two years in the mission field will matter a whole bunch more than what you do the following four years on the football field. But I strongly suspect that I don't have to tell you that.

Then, when you return in a cloud of glory from Chile, KICK SOME BUTT ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD!!!

Dear Elder Mangum,

you are hereby called to serve in the secret Chile Football Training mission. You're cover story is the Chile Antofagasta Mission, Spanish speaking. During this time you will be drilled by all of BYU's elite QB's in addition to Lavell Edwards in the arts physicality, position mastery, intent to deceive, and Ute-crushing. it is expected that you will train for a period of 24 months.

We know how hard you have prepared for this important assignment.we know you have made the right nutrition and coaching decisions that have helped you arrive at this point in your life. As you continue to grow in your football prowess, we know you will bless our lives with wins, donor dollars and a Big 12 invite. Please use this time away from your family to focus on the number 5 priority as number 1 for a short time. Should you choose to accept your calling, you will be contacted by Steve young, your new president, for your training schedule.

High in the Chilean Andes, you will run gassers, skeleton drills, and lift water-logged coconuts like you never have in your entire life. You will return a man of honor having mastered Chiles fastest soccer players and most elite athletes. Cougar nation salutes you.

Do ya think there is a Golds Gym in Antofagasta? Just kidding! That's a pretty dry place, I hope he has a wonderful mission and comes back with lots of fire and focus!

My uncle (and his wife) was the mission president there a few years ago. They absolutely loved it.

Good to see that we are still feeding the "older kids are stronger and better" pipeline.
