Time keeping rules

First of all, let me state that I do not believe that this would have made any difference in the outcome of the game.



So with 1:01 left in the game, BYU makes a basket (I believe a 3 from Carlino) to cut the lead to 10. Gonzaga takes 10 seconds to inbound the ball, and it is finally inbounded with 51 seconds left. My understanding is that in college, the clock stops after a made basket with under a minute to play. Should the clock have been stopped at the 1 minute mark, or was that just bad timing on BYU's part and they would have been better off to have made the basket 2 seconds later? Also, I couldn't believe how long it took Gonzaga to get the ball inbounds. It sure looked like an obvious delay to me.

I saw the same and wonded the same. I think the clock is supposed to stop. But I wanted my pain to stop more than the clock and so I was relieved to see it keep expiring before we took another one second possession only to end in a clank and a quick score by the dogs.

Saw the same thing. They did it in the 1st half too.

I watched the end of the game and wondered about that as well. Shouldn't the shot clock start as well as the 5 sec inbounds rule and the 10 second backcourt rule? I don't have the answer though.

The clock stops after a made basket inside 1 minute remaining. Unfortunately a basket made at 1:02 is just outside that window. However, Pangos ran over to the ball, and then turned away from it to allow another Zag to inbound. At that point, the officials should have stopped the clock.



Same thing at the end of the first half. When Abouo had Pangos tightly guarded (within arm's reach) from :21 left to :8 with only ONE separation called by the ref. That should have been a five second count on TWO different situations and given BYU a final possession with about :10 to go.



Unfortunately, neither play cost BYU the game. We just have ZERO ability to make shots. You go on the road and grab 19 offensive rebounds and hold your opponents to TWO baskets over 13 minutes and force 20 turnovers and you lose? That's some VERY inept offense.



But what can you do when you're guys can't make wide open shots?

agree Spiff. Anytime BYU forces 20 turnovers they should win the game. FTs also didn't help.
