Josh Powell ... it's not pretty

My first reaction when I saw the news about what went down in Oregon was that we lost Sawyer Powell to some indescribable tragedy. Then I remembered the Josh Powell Saga. Glad Sawyer is just fine.



Anyone else do that?

I am a byu fan but Sawyer Powell didn't even cross my mind. I'm just sick.

Agree 100%. Glad josh is now in the hands of the perfect Judge. Glad I have a testimony of the doctrie found in D&C 137.

Seeing this here makes me feel icky. This is a football forum. What happened in Washington is the sort of thing that makes me feel guilty for thinking football even somewhat matters.



I hope the kids died as quickly and as painlessly as possible. I hope (and believe) the hereafter gives these kids the comfort and reconciliation they deserve.

His brother in law said that this is the proof of what happened to Susan. What an evil, sadistic thing to do to his sons, and to all who loved them. He used them as pons from the first, and used them to inflict pain on their loved ones in the end. I can tell from the pictures that the house did not explode, it burned. That means that those boys didn't die instantly, but suffered an agonizing death by fire at the hands of the one who should have loved them most.



Edit. I was wrong in my first assessment. The house did explode, so I hope the boys died instantly and he died slowly.

I pray that somewhere evidence will now be found to help find the body of his dead wife so she can receive a proper burial. Not likely that he had a hint of decency to leave any explanation that would bring anyone besides himself relief.



Given his father's alleged nature, the evil started early and probably ran deep.

This is the saddest thing that could have happened. I am not a religous person but the family will be in my prayers tonight. Josh Powell I hope you burn in hell you worthless ****!

Reports are emerging that his oldest son was starting to remember and verbalized specifics about the "camping" trip and that his mother was in the trunk and that dad and mom got out of the car and then mom disappeared.



I also saw a report that when police first checked the Powell home looking for Susan, fans were blowing - to dry a wet spot on the floor.



Josh's father is on suicide watch. I am OK if they watch him as long as they do not interfere.



Only God will be able to finally judge all of those involved in this bizarre trail of tragedy.

I think you can take it to the bank that he didn't bring any relief to himself. He now has a bright recollection of all his sins, and is living in a hell that has been described as a never ending lake of fire and brimstone, or as eternal torment, or as exquisit pain. I don't like exquisit pain, especially when it never goes away, do you?



I think he's suffering a lot more now than he was Sunday morning, and it isn't going away anytime soon.



His many victims are certainly in my prayers. They don't deserve what he gave them. He, on the other hand, deserves everything he gave himself.

Killing his kids is a despicably heinous crime. It's one thing to commit suicide, but killing your kids is a whole other level. Like it's been said, I'm sure he's reaping the rewards for his mistakes now.



But let's be clear that there was never enough evidence for the police to even charge the man on the disappearance of his wife, doesn't mean he's innocent, but in this country we're innocent until proven guilty and I don't mean in the court of public opinion. Not trying to defend a child killer, but it IS possible that Josh didn't kill his wife.

Yeah, he's probably as innocent as Mark Hacking, Scott Peterson and OJ. Just sayin.

Re-edit: I was more right than wrong in my first assessment, but it was even worse than I thought. I take comfort in knowing that his hell will be a long and torturous one.

I'm just glad there is a Righteous Judge who is infinitely more wise than me to sort this whole mess out.

When did the illegal port habit stuff come out? I knew his dad [steve powell] had issues with this, but didn't know this about Josh Powell. I'm not disagreeing, but I've followed the case pretty closely and haven't found any charges brought against josh powell like that.

I remember an article describing porn found on his computer as "probably" illegal. That sounds like they can't determine exactly the age of the participants. This is what led the judge to order the psychosexual screening.

I am corrected: the porn was described by Powell's lawyer as tasteless, but not illegal.



But for a judge to require a psychosexual screening, it would have to be pretty jacked up.

I'm glad we can distinguish between tasteless and classy porn.
