YndianIn fairness to Smart, they managed to win both games. But it's an odd move to be sure.

BroncoBotJimmer has to find another team. I don't think his teammates enjoy all the attention he gets and they certainly don't want to share shots. Smart might be doing the "smart" thing by not playing Jimmer. The team might be playing better without him on the court because of personality (immaturity) reasons.

SpiffCougI've heard rumors of a disagreement with Jimmer and the coach. If so, the coach is trying to assert himself. And if there really is the dichotomy most of us think there is on the team (resentment towards Jimmer) the coach is essentially taking the other players' side. Which, if he wants to win games and keep his job, is likely a smart play by the coach.
It might hurt Jimmer, but it might be better for the Kings.
My biggest problem with how Jimmer has been handled is they haven't allowed Jimmer to run the point when he's in. Instead they run this hybrid, ineffective three-guard lineup with no set roles. But when Isaiah Thomas is in, he's the point and the offense runs through him and more effectively. If Jimmer was allow to actually play the point and lead the offense, the Kings would be better off and Jimmer would be in a better situation.
The only quarter I've seen where Jimmer was the true point was a few games ago when Jimmer had 15 points and 6 assists in the first half and the Kings scored 39 points in the 2nd quarter. Jimmer was subsequently relegated to the bench in the 3rd and 4th quarters and no longer played point and the Kings scored 35 points in the second half.

MarsI'm pissed at the Kings right now. This is stupid. Jimmer was playing well.
Cutting his minutes is a coaching decision based on performance. But NO minutes? That's a personality problem that the head coach has. And as a fan, I don't find that to be acceptable.
I have tickets to an upcoming game in Sacramento. If Jimmer doesn't play, I'm going to demand my money back from the office.

THis is freakin uncanny. kind of like a highly touted 1st year player who shows flashes of brilliance, but some bad performances as well, had a ton of fan and media attention, was getting all the autograph requests, hadn't "paid his dues yet", had a more experienced player ahead of him develop allies on the team and give the coach an ultimatum, only to then see that player get benched, rejected and to some degree scapegoated for the team's problems by his teammates, out of envy, when some of the other players on that team should have been outed. Ya, that never, ever happens in team sports.

Wrong. the player who has gotten Jimmer's minutes is a fellow rookie. There is also no indication that Jimmer is quitting, not showing up to practices/workouts.
