Who the heck is this kid?

Scout has him as a 2-star but he lists "Schools of Interest" as everybody from Alabama to Oregon to USC to Penn State yet his only offers are BYU and Utah.

What is his story?

He's a Beast! We want him. He's a smasher. A block wall.

Did he sign? He had an offer long ago but would not commit. Scout's rating dropped on him. I assume that he was not as good as we first thought he was.

He didn't sign and all of BYU's scholorships are taken.

I don't see him committed anywhere today.



Probably not fair to the kid but it seems a little strange. It seems he has been "promoting" himself with talk of offers from several top 10 programs but his only offers according to Scout are U and Y. Rivals and ESPN barely have him on their radar.



Hard to figure out.

I never saw him play or watch any of the videos. I just look at the comments and the recruiting process. Initially I was very high and then my interest dropped. We have a lot of LBs signed so he was not a priority from what I can tell. I am NOT an expert just a fan.

I think it is disputed as to whether he had a byu offer or not. they were following him becuase he looked like he was going to be very good. then that was not the case.

Because I was going through a list of Utah's offers and saw this kid on it. I knew nothing about him but saw BYU had offered him too and thought you guys might know something.

I think craigo knows his dad, and he used to comment on him frequently. For whatever reason, the BYU offer never came. From what I recall, it was tied to 2 things:

1)he liked the process too much early and would not early commit

2)his 40 times were awful at camps.



Be willing to bet that BYU offers him preferred walk-on status if he receives no offer he wants. Not seeing that he actually commit anywhere, so looking as if all those offers were not firm. In fact, not looking good at all for him.

Does preferred walk-on status get him in the gate without having to go through the standard admission process like getting a scholarship?

I am sure BYU has rules for preferred walk-ons as to admittance. No schollie, but gotta perform once you get there or you flame out. And, means you not have to go through walk-on process. You are on the team.

Remember that kid from Nevada who put on a whole show in his High School gym talking about all the schools that wanted him. He did a hat ceremony and picked USC over all the other big names. Then USC heard about it and said, what? who are you? We've never even heard of you...

I remember the story. The school was Cal. HE got outed because Jeff Tedford called the local media and said he had no idea who he was.
