Just for kicks

For whatever reason, this commentary from VT's coach struck me as a little funny:

“When you’re playing the BYUs and Utah State schools that have players that go on missions, you’re not playing kids, you’re playing men,” Greenberg said. “You’re talking about a group of guys that have returned from a Mormon mission that are 23, 24 years old. It’s like playing in an adult league in a lot of ways.”

Although perhaps implicit in his comments, at least he didn't overtly go with the whole mantra of BYU's return missionaries have an unfair advantage...Don't get me started on that one.

Sweet the mission advantage in pre-game excuse making!

Let's look at our starting 5:

Davies: Junior, no redshirt or mission - he's a old as any junior on VT.

Hartsock: Senior, no red-shirt, did serve a mission - he's at most one year older than other player on VT.

Abouo: Senior, no redshirt of mission - he's as old as any senior on VT.

Zylstra: Junior, redshirt and mission - he is older than other juniors on VT.

Carlino: Freshman, redshirt no mission - he's as old as any freshman on VT.

Our bench players:

Austin: Freshman, mission no redshirt - he's as old as any redshirt sophomore on VT

Winder: Freshman, redshirt no mission - he's as old as any freshman on VT

Harrison: Freshman, no redshirt no mission - he's as old as any freshman on VT

Rogers: Junior, mission no redshirt - he's as old as any senior on VT

So essentially, BYU has ONE player who is older than anyone VT.

So Va Tech is intimidated by a bald, old, unathletic white guy that cannot jump, is too small, and usually has a bloody nose.
