BYU vs ECU

My take, this could be a good game. ECU has been a good in C-USA the last couple of years. The bigger question is how good will they be in the future. With the loss of Skip Holtz, they maybe in decline.



Thoughts?

Anyone else find if odd that we can announce games in 2017 and 2018 while we still don't know the schedule for 2012, possibly not even all the teams we are playing?

2012 is being kept open because the Big-12 doesn't know how desparate they are yet to schedule games.



I for one am okay with negotiating partners coming to the table in desperate need to schedule us. more money, and better results for us. And why the need to announce it now?

Well, if we join a league, we still need OOC games for 2017 and beyond. So doing future schedules is still easy that way.



Additionally, BYU is still maneuvering to upgrade the 2012 schedule. That is why it has not been released yet. The latest rumor is the ND might have requested that we move the game to Dec.1. but it also gives BYU and ND a bigger stage for their game as many conferences now have Champ games that weekend. Fewer games to go up against, and BYU and ND both would like their profile raised that weekend. Again, just a rumor, but one I hope is true.

That would be a great time for that game, we should do that every year with them (home & home).

Why would they do a home and home with us when we are so willing to do 2 for 1's with them? I love the idea of the game...Holy War 2.0. However, ND knows they can demand 2 for 1's with us.

Interesting location and stadium. One of the larger capacities outside the BCS leagues - +50k and an area for good exposure. Fair number of saints in NC - nice temple in the area. We are not standing idly by and being acted upon but finding future teams that want to include other sports. I believe this gives us good leverage to negotiate with conferences we are interested in joining.
