Talo Stevens just tweeted that Lutui is choosing between BYU and USC and that the :utard: is out of the picture. Once again Independance beat the pac nothing :)

Utah might be over offering, which it looks like they are. They still have a ton of offers out and few schollies left. Willing to bet this is a reason.

Legit enough that Tom Cella passed it on, and Gurney retweeted it as well. Cella published utezozne.com.



This cracks me up if true, because last week, all the buzz on utezone was how Lutui was down to Utah and USC, and that Lutui hated his BYU visit and called everyone there weird. Which is really stupid because Lutui visited BYU with his cousin Butch Pauu. Even though he is not LDS, he is surounded by LDS, so that whole weird incident sounded fake. And now the posters at utezone look like fools. As usual.

I agree with this. I still think he is USC's to lose. They offer, he goes. If they don't, he is up for grabs, unless Utah lands some other commits they have offers to and have to pull it. But it cocould happen due to numbers. Utah still has a load of offers out there.

I don't see Hiva committing to BYU. I wish he would. I see USC or the U. He's a real good one. I'm not sure how seriously he's looking @ the Y.

From what I hear he tripped to USC but they did not offer him.

How many more days till Feb 1? Dang, Jauary is a long month. Wednesday, I think. Not much has been said - this is an OK, but uninspiring class again. But then it is always fun to see an underdog exceed expectations and I am sure we have a couple of pleasant surprises in this group once they develop.

My understanding about USC is - they only have 15 schollies to give because of the NCAA sanctions. As a result - they are very careful where they place them. If USC had offered Hiva & another quality athlete, using the sam schollie as bait. It's possible the other athlete committed & Hiva is left without @ USC. It's possible. Just brainstorming. We'll find out Wed.

Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that he has picked Utah. Going on a mission first, so maybe he'll come to his senses in the next few years and switch to BYU.
