A few thoughts

Why hasn't this team learned that Noah Hartsock is far and away the best option on offense. This game started ugly when everyone was playing for himself instead of working it inside out. Noah was getting some limited touches but not nearly enough down the stretch. LMU also did a good job of keeping the ball out of Noah's hands.

Carlino. He's good. Obviously he's going to great. But I can't help but notice that the team is a little more complacent when he is running the point. I wonder if the rest of the guys sit back and have nostalgic thoughts about Jimmer. Cusick comes in and i've noticed just a little more hustle out of the rest of the team. Addition by subtraction? Cusick being the subtraction?

First 5 min of play was pathetic and set the tone for the game. Before any guard takes a shot the ball should have to go into the post. No ifs, ands or buts about it. Down the court, into the post, and maybe back out for an open shot.

Carlino does move the ball better. I like how he pushes the ball and he really didn't take many bad shots other than one or two in the first few min and the at the end when were chucking prayers.

I am completely baffled; however, with Rose's infatuation with Cusick. Cusick is a waste of space on the court. He's horrible at D, doesn't push the ball up the court, and his passing is marginal. Winder should be getting his minutes. It will pay dividends in the future. Without Noah next year we're going to need a lot better guard play and we're just not going to get that out of a Cusick.

Tough to get Noah touches and shots when they're doubling post and we're missing the kickout shots.

BYU and Rose need to find a way to get Noah to touch the ball on every half court possession they have. Even if it's out on the perimeter. Noah Hartsock is far and away our best player this year. Other teams are very wise to keep him from touching the ball, that's why a good coach devises ways to get him the ball.

agree, and I addressed that. That was an adjustment that needed to be made. If Noah is doubled, someone is open. BYU should have gotten a lot of OPEN looks, but there was always a guy in the shooters face. It was like LMU had 8 guys out there.
