LMU Game

Vegas concensus is BYU favored by 17.5. Any opinions?



Thanks for BYUtv. Fox Prime Ticket will also cover it but it wil probably be a BYUtv feed which provides Utah commercials. Much better than the national stuff we see over and over.

My opinion is this game won't be close and should be over by halftime.

LMU will have more bite to them this time around, so don't count on a blowout Cougar faithful.



I think 17.5 is a bit high, honestly. Vegas may not know, but last time we played LMU Hamilton was out with an injury. He's LMU's second leading scorer and second leading rebounder. With Hamilton back, LMU has three players averaging close to 15 pts/game. Not too shabby.



I'm still expecting a win, but we can't get careless and certainly can't overlook the Lions.

I agree, I'd probably bet against the 17.5, but I still am confident in a Cougar victory.

This game will be much different than when we played at LMU. Hamilton and Viney are a combo just like Davies and Harstock. Viney played Harstock even during the last game. I expect LMU to double down on our two big men and seek success in the post as SD did. I also expect them to use more full court pressure like they did the final two minutes and see if they can create turnovers from our guards. A bonus for us is that LMU is missing Dubuois who averages 10.3 ppg. Their guards are quicker than ours and better penetrators. Ours shoot the ball better but perform best when they can spot up after making he entry pass to the low post and then receiving it back. Carlino, Zylstra and Abouo will be the wildcards (keys to the game) and need to shoot well and lock down on defense. This should be a close game unless LMU misfires on offense, throws up bricks, and is affected by the elevation (tires out second half).

LMU was VERY successful with the pressure at the end of the last game; so much so that our next two opponents tried to exploit the weakness once they saw it on film but Rose had us ready and they had very limited results. I don't think they kept the pressure for any length of time.



I hope they bring pressure because that will lead to some easy baskets for us.

We look confused on offense. They are working very hard to keep us out of the post. Our 3's aren't going and we haven't been able to run. We really missed haven't Abouo on Viney in the first half because of his foul trouble.

17.5? Cougs have their work cut out tonight.

We're getting out rebounded as well

This is a bad loss. Wow. We need to take care of business vs GU and SMU in order to forget this one. Yikes. LMU? Really? Embarrassing game.

Dumb fouls really costing us. Why is BYU fouling like there is less than a minute left?

We're toast. Careless with the ball and nobody can hit a big shot to save our life
