Received offer from BYU this past weekend (Jan. 14 - recruit visit)

Also being recruited by USU, OSU and UW.

If he can't cut it academically for USU how in the heck would he make at BYU??

looks like Utah has offered him as well. I wonder if they did so because he said he was a life-long utah fan that was very impressed with his BYU visit. That was him wasn't it>?

Tony Jones, the USU sports beat writer, chimned in on the recruitment of Tenny by Coach Gary Anderson (January 18, 2012):



"Gary Andersen has put more time into Tenny Palepoi's recruitment than almost any other player that he's wooed or tried to woo to Utah State.



It's been an almost three year courtship for the defensive end for Snow College, and one time star at Skyline High. It will end soon, one way or another, as signing day is just a mere few weeks away. And while Utah State is squarely in the thick of his wish list, the Aggies are fighting a battle with heavyweights.



BYU, Utah and Oregon State are all trying to obtain Palepoi's services. And for good reason. He's big, quick, powerful and a potential game-changer. He's the younger brother of Anton Palepoi, the former UNLV star and NFL veteran of seven years, and the older brother of Daniel Palepoi, who starred at Bingham High this season.



Palepoi visited the Aggies two weeks ago. Last weekend, it was BYU, and he will trip to Utah this weekend.



But there's no doubt that Andersen and his staff have pulled the stops for him. They had a home visit with Palepoi last Sunday, and had three different factions of staff visiting him and his various family in three different places on Monday.



Palepoi, if he committed to Utah State, would be a favorite to start at defensive end next to Al Lapuaho from day one next season. One thing to remember: Palepoi and Lapuaho are lifelong best friends.



Another thing to note: Palepoi's wife is said to have loved the visit to Logan and the family atmosphere.



But Palepoi has grown up a huge fan of the Utes, and that will loom large.



It will be interesting to see how this plays out."

He indicated that after his visit to BYU and meeting with Coach Mendenhall , he has a new perspective on BYU, and really enjoys the sincerely and humility of the coach. Palepoi loves Bronco's commitment to the program and his love for the players. This will be a good opportunity for us to see if Bronco's meeting truly had a significant impact on his decision-making process.

The more I read about Palepoi, the less I think we'll get him. Utah St.'s put much more time into him, and he's loved Utah his whole life. That'd have to be a REALLY amazing visit with Bronco to overcome both of those.



I think he picks Utah and has BYU's scholarship offer to thank for it. But If we have one thing going for us, it's that bronco is an elite defensive coordinator with top -25 defenses. That's got to mean something.

He has narrowed his list down to the 3 in-state schools: Utah, USU and BYU.



USU has been recruiting him the longest, Utah offered him a schollie after the Y's offer, and he had a good visit with Bronco. His position is central/critical in Bronco's defense while not as much in the other two. Chance for him to get a lot of PT.

Scout said last night he had committed to the yewts.
