Resilliency and Exposure

Bronco stated that he couldn't believe the number of coaches that he met at the coaches convention who had expressed they had seen BYU on ESPN throughout the year and commented on specific games that got their attention. This type of exposure validated what Bronco felt was a significant benefit of the ESPN TV contract. He also noted that the coaches noted how the team progressed dramatically after the USU game and insertion of Riley into the starting QB role.



He also noted that all Riley did when he started was continue the type of play that he exhibited in the Spring Game when he led his team to overtime win. He was a great leader and had the ability to rally the team to a win under the pressure of time running out and having to make successful plays to keep the chains moving.

Or how BYU got more votes than 11-win Northern Illinois, 10-win Ohio, and 10-win Arkansas St. I'm honestly not sure BYU is better than those teams, but our exposure sure gave coaches the opportunity to see how "good" BYU was. Exposure helped us get ranked.
