BYU's 1st half performance an NCAA record?

On Jay Drew's article at the bottom where is says, "A few more odds and ends from the game:" One of the items says, "* The San Francisco Chronicle reported that BYU assisting on all 16 of its first-half baskets is an NCAA record. The Cougars finished assisting on 27 of 29 made baskets. BYU's season high for total assists is 29.



Not sure if this is accurate, but true or not I just thought I'd point it out there for the people who don't like to read Jay Drew news. Pretty neat though.

There's no comments on it yet, but I guarantee there will be some Ute fans chiming in on the classlessness of BYU for going for it at the end instead of dribbling it out. :utard:

I had business in slc last afternoon and eve and missed the game. Looking fwd to viewing the recording today.

But, if true, abt assists, this team really will be so much better with this approach. I guess most teams would be.

It's not exactly a new development for this game. We've 4th in the county in apg

And that is playing 1/3 of the season not playing BYU Basketball. The assists have gone up exponentially since Carlino came into town, and we started pushing it every time down the court. BYU is great at sharing the ball, and we are even better now. SHABOOYEAH!!!



EDIT: I did the math. 20 assists per game average since the baylor game (up from 18 previously). But I would say that has been against much better competition than the first 1/3 of the season (17 assists per game against "D1 level competition" before Baylor). Here are the totals if anyone is interested.

way back when I was there it was "WHOOSH ... Go Cougars" but that was a long time ago
