Great video for a game with a great ending! :D



Looking back at the video, I thought Doman did very well calling plays for that last two minutes--no signs of panic play calls--such as 4 hail Marys or something. There was plenty of time to use the whole offense, knowing that this was likely the last drive, and he left very little time on the clock for Tulsa. Well done.

Video captured some wonderful moments of completed passes, nice tackles and wonderful returns. Couple of things that I noticed:



1. Riley can throw darts when he has time or is able to bide time by avoiding pressure.

2. Hoffman will catch anything that he can get his hands on.

3. Falslev is fearless as a punt returner and his shiftiness makes people miss.

4. KVN has a sense for the ball and seemed to know where plays were going.

5. The last series to win the game was masterfull: good run blocking coupled with JJ and Kariya running hard for good yardage, and Riley tucking and running the ball for big gains when nothing was there.

6. Additionally, in that last series, because our run game was effective, and the D was concerned about the pass, it opened up a number of areas on the field to attack - lots of options.

7. Looks like Riley could have hit Juice on the RB flare out instead of Matthews which could allowed him to score or get out of boundsthe clock to stop the clock.



Hoping for an improved Riley and team for next season so that we can revel in more Furious Monkey highlights.

Falslev has a stop and go button like few I've seen. It's either sprint, and stop. His ability to change directions is truly unique.

Falslev is a quicker Nate Meikle. Just as fearless. Just as good hands. Just a little quicker on the cuts and go's.

That is what I was thinking the other day. New and improved Nate Meikle.

Here's hoping that Doman makes him an integral part of the passing offense next year as well. He is dangerous in the open field as he is tough to tackle.

Totally agree about Falslev. Kid's a gamer, and from the interviews I've seen, a real humble, nice farm kid. But that kid can juke with his hips, and I don't know when I've seen that before. Just WOW.



In my opinion The Top 10 MVP's in order have to be

1. KVN --went way above and beyond.

2. Hoff --3TD's, 100+yards, bailed out Nelson more times than I cared to count, even just in that highlight video.

3. JD Falsev --Nate Miekle's been raving about him for a couple of years; it's awesome to see his prognostications come to fruition. JD dragged 3 defenders for 10 yards on a kick return which he started out running the other way, catching the ball OVER HIS SHOULDER. But he also knows when to take a knee.

4. Matt Reynolds --We'll really miss him sealing off that edge. Showed huge class coming back for his Sr year and giving up 1st round money for 3rd/4th round money. That decision probably cost him a $Mill. Props. And blowing up the defender who ripped his helmet off (you can see it clearly in the ESPN replay--guy grabs under the side of MR's helmet as he gets hit the first time), PRICELESS.

5. Riley Stephenson --7 of 8 punts within the 20? That field position differential made a HUGE difference in this game.

6. Riley Nelson --Lot's been said already in other threads, but he's the only QB we've had where I'm nervous when he's throwing (unless the game's on the line), but comfortable when he's running (a big change from Max Hall, that). He did just enough inexplicably awesome to offset the inexplicably awful. And he did have a few very nicely thrown balls on designed plays, too.

7. Brian Kariya, JJ DiLuigi (T) --We had just enough running to keep them honest, and these two came through when we needed them. JJ had some nice catches out of the backfield, and Brian has my full respect. Loved the delayed handoff call to him.

9. Preston Hadley--nice TFL

10. Loni Fangupo --great job clogging up the middle



Honorable Mention: McKay Jacobson --

Dishonorable Mention: Corby Eason. Guy got burned worse than the grannies on the beaches of Santa Monica. And looked slower, too. I think he tries hard, though.
